Learn a simple research-based Emotional Freedom Technique (aka "tapping") for effective and efficient relief from emotional and/or physical pain!

Tuesday and Thursday at Noon in the AHA! community room.
With Debra Howard, AHA! Head Honcho and Asian Bodywork Therapist. Join Debra to de-stress with gentle movement, meditation, and breathing, learning self-care skills and having fun, too!

$5. Bring a mat for stretching. Class usually lasts about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE CLINIC
Saturdays from 11:00 - 1:00
Manning Hudson, Licensed Acupuncturist, will be offering a series of community acupuncture clinics at the Affordable Healing Arts space in the New Orleans Healing Center. Community acupuncture offers access to the benefits of acupuncture at an affordable cost.
This is a walk-in clinic and no reservations or appointments are necessary. The average session usually lasts about 30 - 40 minutes.
Suggested donation is $20 - $30.

HOLIDAY PREP: CHAKRA BALANCING WORKSHOP

Thursday, December 13th, 6 to 7:30 pm
Fortify your mind, body, and spirit for a healthful holiday season!
The holiday season can bring emotional and physical stress into our lives.
We tend to stretch ourselves thin financially and energetically, neglect our nutritional wellness, and managing challenging family dynamics during this time of year.
Would you like to feel centered and balanced as you navigate this time of year?
Join us to learn techniques to balance your chakras through simple visualizations and positive affirmations, with hands-on teaching and demonstrations by Hypnotherapist and Reiki Practitioner Summer Mead! Then, Holistic Health Coach Nicole Rochat, LMSW, will provide healthy chakra-balancing recipes and lifestyle tips for the holiday season, along with herbal remedies for stress management. You will create your own take-home herbal medicinal tea blend for continued healing!

An educational and experiential approach to wellness of the mind. Drawing from various sources, this course combines wisdom, insight, and practical knowledge from neuroscientific research, various mindfulness and meditative practices and traditions, spiritual traditions, as well as years of clinical observation and interpersonal exploration.

This is a bi-weekly existential group therapy experience for young folks in the 'helping' professions.

LEARN EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE
Tuesday, April 17th, 7:00 - 8:00 PM
Dr. Gail Gillespie, psychologist at AHA!, will host a demonstration of Emotional Freedom Technique (a.k.a. "tapping"). EFT is a gentle self-administered acupressure technique that neutralizes and dissolves intense negative emotions and physical pain. By donation. (This class is usually held the last Tuesday of every month, but is moved up one week for the month of April).

CCB can assist in releasing stress & anxiety naturally. This breathing process helps one become more conscious of the power of their breath in healing physical, spiritual, and emotional issues. Includes an overview of the process, a breathing meditation, & a Q&A period

10/24 Anxiety Reduction at your Fingertips - Gail Gillespie, PhD
Learn a quick & effective self-administered technique to reduce or eliminate anxiety. Emotional Freedom Technique (aka “tapping”) also works on many emotional & physical conditions.

11/7 Mindful Techniques for Stress Reduction - Ramon Zelaya, LPC, NCC
This workshop covers a collection of skillful exercises that can be used to address stress, anxiety, anger, fear, inattentiveness, rumination, distractedness, etc. including relaxation techniques & mindful concentration exercises integrating various meditation traditions and therapeutic approaches.

11/14 Healthy Foods, Happy Moods - Nicole Rochat, LMSW, CIHC
This workshop will explore the connection between our mood & what we eat. Practical strategies for balancing mood and achieving happiness using healthy food and herbal remedies will be shared. Healthy holiday tips and recipes provided!

11/21 Reboot your Tech Habit for Health & Happiness – AHA! practitioners
This workshop explores the ways our relationship to and use of technology can disrupt our health and interpersonal relationships. We will discuss data driven neurological impacts of technology, and specific approaches to forming a healthier relationship with our technology.
